Bought a 98tq yesterday. Drove it to the store down the road. Went over a speed bump and the front left drops and skids to a halt. WTF? Get out to see the wheel shoved up into the wheel well and some fluid all over. Great! Look under and the lower control arm is snapped and hanging. The car will not move and it's a busy day in front of Fred Meyer's. Some ahole stops behind the car and starts honking for me to move the car. I tell him the car doesn't move and him and his gf tell me to f%^k off and throw me the bird. Love those types.
Anyways get it home and pull off the wheel. I thought the fluid was a severed brake line but it is all in tact? Look around confused and finally realize it pulled out the cv axle about an inch from the tranny. What luck! So I'm thinking the cv can just pop back in and be fine? Replace a bit of tranny fluid and all should be ok? I'm ordering a new control arm and hoping for no more bad luck.

So I called the guy I bought the car from and he came down and gave me some cash to cover the repair! Major karma points for that guy. Awesome. Try getting that next time you buy a used car!
