dead battery/putting car in neutral?

dead battery/putting car in neutral?
Hi. My '98 A4qtip is dead in my garage. I'm
pretty sure it's the battery, but my biggest
concern is that I can't put it into neutral
and roll it out of my garage (for towing
and/or repair). Is this a safety feature?
Is there some sort of trick to getting it out
of park?
BTW, already tried jumping it...no go.

then dont roll it out dude. call audi road side assistance. one time someone forgot to ..
turn off one of the lights@pilar and i didnt use the car for 1 week and my battery died. i called audi and they sent a dude to hook the car up to a battery pack.
