Default Dealer said they may have figured out my shifting problem....

My car very hard to shift into 1st and second after the "fixed" it the first time. They tell me the gears are fine and that they ordered a shift fork. Could a bent shift fork cause this problem and what is it???

Default i'm assuming...

the shift fork is the piece of the shifter that hooks up to the linkage and hooks up to the bottom of your shifter. Just a guess, but if this was bent it would definately cause problems.

Default I dont think it is....they said....

that if they shifted the gears without the fork (their hands) it shifts fine but when using the fork it does not work. i am pretty sure the fork is not able to be seen and underneath the car, i think it acutally does the physical shifting of the gears

Default I have the same problem...

It is very difficult to go from 1st to 2nd in my car as the shifter seems to get stuck or hung up on something. I have grinded my gears this way by accidentally letting up on the clutch and at the same time pulling the stick into 2nd. Also, I can have the clutch pushed all the way down and try to switch from 1st to 2nd and the stick will come out of 1st easily but it will grind and not let me into second. I actually gave my dealer the car for a week and he said that all manual A4's act like mine. Bull****!
