Default Dealer won't turn rotors as part of a brake job - is this normal?

I spoke to my dealer yesterday and he told me that they never turn the rotors as part of a normal brake job - pads only. Is that possible? Every other car that I've ever owned required the rotors to be "turned" in order to true them up and eliminate vibration. My Audi dealer tells me that there is so little material on the stock A4 rotors, they can't grind them. What happens after the 3rd or 4th brake job, do we just replace the rotors? $$$ ouch! Thanks

Default Rotors are cheap (relatively speaking)...

I just bought 4 slotted rotors from Gary @ Ronal for $343 shipped to my door. I would go aftermarket, when it comes time to replace rotors.

BTW - I've never been a big fan of turning rotors anyway.

Default When my rear pads wore down (early), they replaced the rotors as well

1 pad wore down quicker than the others and probably started to harm the rotor. Before that happened I called to make an appointment. They said not to worry about harming the rotor as they would replace them anyway.
Mark P

Default

I was told this is Audi policy. Replace, not resurface.
