I have a '00 B5 Manual V6 with 194,000 miles on it.
On deceleration in any gear it makes a noise that is really hard to describe. It is somewhere between a squeal and a tick. It does not make the noise coasting in neutral or with the clutch disengaged, only in gear under breaking or coasting.
The strange thing is that the car sat for about a week and didn't make the noise for 25 miles but it is gradually coming back.
Any idea specifically what this is? Obviously it is in the transmission. The clutch shifts very well and has never slipped.
