Default DELTA RADIO HELP SAFE II

Just preceded a delta radio from a salvage year. The unit turns on but SAFE II shows up. I left the car running for an hour. Did this a few times, once the hour is up the unit shuts off. When I turn it back on, SAFE II reappears. Took it to the dealer, spoke with an Audi technician as well as management. Nothing they could do, they told me the radio was BAD; Any ideas other then retuning the unit.

Default Do you have the code for the radio? If not the dealer will have to get it by contacting Audi with

the serial number of the radio.

Default No i have not code .......

I called the dealer in OH, that's where the car\radio was put into service and they had no code to give. The radio is locked with the ll sing and will not allow me to enter a code.

Default Either the dealer is dumb or is playing dumb. Try a different dealer. You'll need to go in, show the

receipt from the junk yard, explain the situation, have them get the serial number from the back of the radio and then they can get the code from Audi. Regardless of how honest you appear, they aren't likely to give you a radio code over the telephone.

Default I see what your saying. I've gor a few dealers in the area but

the unit will not come out of the SAFE ll. ll means its been locked. According to the manual, once the unit displays the II sing; it must stay on for one hour. Once the hour expires it should allow me to enter a code. With out access to the 0000 screen a code is useless. I assumed they'd be able to force it out of II mode. Thank for your help, I'll tell you how it goes.
