I changed my oil in my 1.8T at 6000 km....(I had confused miles and km again...I saw 5000 and forgot to do metric conversion from km back to miles...whoops)
not the 8000 it is supposed to be changed at
I didn't realise the factory oil had some special additives (I had the oil changed at the dealership though, it's still dino oil)and since I drive a lot (more than 800 km a week)
I figured better to change asap...than wait and change the oild too late
how badly did I screw up?

There has been a ton of discussion about 5k oil changes, 3k oil changes, etc., etc,.. Does Audi actually add some secret additive to the oil the install in the car when it is shipped from the factory? I can't see how changing the original oil in your new Audi before the 5k mark can be harmful to your engine.
Is this an urban myth or is there really something to it. I've been running a fairly stout 86 GN at the local point and go track for several years on Mobil 1 that is "ouuta there" with a filter every 1 to 3k miles and my motor is as good as new every time I tear it down... nice, shiny, no bad deposits in the pan.
Audi world is somewhat new to me... simply put...
why is it bad to change that original motor oil at 1k, 2k, or and k before 5k?
Thanks...
