Did I get a good deal?

Hey all..
After drooling at magazines time and time again, I finally graduated out of college, landed a good job and was luckily able to finally purchase my first new car ever, and the car that I have always wanted.. a silver 2000 A4.
Just wanted to say hello to all the other lucky A4 owners out there.
My first question I guess is.. did i pay too much? I was doing ALOT of comparison shopping on my car before i finally decided to go with a:
Silver 1.8T Quattro, Convience, Sports, Manual, Bose. The MSRP was like 29365. I got the car for 31325 out the door. Did I get a good deal? How does this compare to everyone else out there?
Either way I am really happy that I found the car in that trim. Just wanted to compare notes. Thanks all.
----------

Congratulations and enjoy!
(If you have to compare notes, I'd say that ~5% over invoice is about the norm for most of forum readers.)

I think you paid a pretty hefty price. If you had asked for advice before buying I would have said go to www.edmunds.com and read their "How to buy a car" article (long, but well worth it) and do lots of homework on invoice prices. You would have paid less. But you got a nice car anyhow, and as long as you're happy with it that's really what matters.
Philbiker

I ordered a 2001 A4 1.8T with the same options (except manual) PLUS tiptronic, electronic
stability program (ESP), xenon, and cd changer
and it came in lower than your cost. But as
long as u are happy
it doesn't really matter.

Thanks for the input all..
I did try to do my homework, but I guess I just didn't do enough. Actually I calculated everything and I paid 7.8% over invoice. This is pretty good considering I live in S.California and the car that I got is quite rare right now. I don't know about 3 months ago, but I have had a really hard time finding a car exactly like the one I wanted. I bought the car at Rusnak/Pasadena on the advice of my friend who actually purchased one over the weekend as well. I don't know if the price is still negotiable considering I only put a deposit down and haven't really signed any papers yet. I am supposed to go up there today. The salesperson and I agreed to a price yesterday, but I haven't signed any papers. Do you think it would be out of line to start renegotiating for that 5% mark.. I am thinking that this will be nearly impossible as the demand is so high right now for the A4.
All comments appreciated and welcome.
----------
