Did my valve cover gasket...very happy at how the engine is looking at 85k

Default Did my valve cover gasket...very happy at how the engine is looking at 85k

Synthetic oil changes since about 50k and big filter from around 65k. Never been seafoamed or added an oil treatment. I'm gonna send out an oil sample to blackstone labs next oil change.

Also how the do the plugs look? They look ok to me. Ran them a little longer then I would have liked to. Around 10k instead of the normal 5k I do. I switched from the 7's to the 6's this time.

Default Just did my 97 A4 turbo and this is what mine looked like.

I used synthetic from 600mi-present. My valve train ended up looking pretty much brand new after 10 years...kinda amazing. My gasket was leaking into the spark plug holes, but it was the original gasket from 96. If treated properly and started off with synthetic with change intervals of 5k...your engine can look like this after a decade. As far as the plugs, I've only ran Beru Ultra X the whole time and have had no trouble with fouling or early faillure(chipped sinse 1997).

both look fantastic.starting..your plugs mybe hve oil leaking frm old gasket? but tips look normal

Thats how it should look. Some I see are like silver. Oil is suppose to coat.

Looks great! That's what mine looks like with 99K on it now. Do a compression and leak down soon.
