I have read that brake cleaner should work - I'd like to have somebody that has cleaned theirs tell me what they used, if it worked etc. I don't really want to start messing with it until I know.
Reason: Check engine light comes on, vacuum hoses all seem good... dirty MAF has been listed as a possibility for the error code, and I have a K&N filter.

remove your K&N go back to the paper filter.. the MAF sensor gets soaked in that oil and gets fvcked over...
if you under oil it, you aren't getting enough protection.. if you over oil it
well... you get the whole maf sensor issue.
I just cleaned mine with isopropyl by soaking the maf in a zip lock bag full of it
