Default Disconnecting the airbag

I'm changing the turn signal, headlight, cruise combination switch. After disconnecting the battery, waiting 30 minutes, and unbolting the driver's airbag, what is the correct way to disconnect the airbag? Does the plug on the wiring snap out from the back of the airbag unit, or must I unplug it from the steering column end and also unplug the wires from the steering wheel which trigger the horn? I'm not sure if the wires are supposed to unplug from the back of the airbag and I dont want to break it, so thanks for reply from those who know these things better.

Default disconnect the wires from the steering hub, I am pretty sure that is what I did

when I had to straighten my steering wheel.

Default If really isn't necessary to go to all that trouble; the battery does not need to be disconnected.

Just leave the ignition off for 30 min before starting.

The clock spring wires plug directy into the back of the bag. Unplug there.
