Default djnelsen...the email was sent back to me...here's my email...

Ok, here's my dilemma:
I currenty have Neuspeed Sport springs which they "say" they lowers 1.25" F&R. I also have Bilstein Sports(regular, not Neuspeed's) The
set-up doesn't look to great. It seems to sit a little bit higher in the rear than in the rear(definite forward rake).
So my question for you is, do Neuspeed Bilsteins have more perches in the rear than regular Bilstein sports? And if so how many perches are
there on Neu. Bil. for the Front and the Rear?
If I can save some money I'd like to just swap the rear shox. Man, it's going to suck
paying to swap the shox!

Sorry if I bothered you, but you seemed to be pretty knowledgeable in this area plus we both have 99.5 2.8s =) Thanks for your help I
appreciate it.

Default here's a pic of the Neu Bils.......

I believe the rear Neu-Bils (on the right) have two more perches than the regular Bilsteins...the two grooves shown under the ring there....each of these perches is 5mm, so you should be able to lower the rears 10mm. Should do the trick.

But give it a few weeks to settle first before you go buying new shocks. It might settle out and be ok.

Default cool, no problem......a month? okay, that "settles" it =P........here's a thought.....

you might be able to have grooves machined into the rears. Find a good machine shop with a lathe.

Default I have the exact same issue

been in talks with Neuspeed. I have the Neuspeed bilstein shocks and the sport lowering springs and there's definitely a forward rake to the car. I even paid to have the rears set to the lowest perch to no avail. At this point, I can say I'm definitely unhappy with neuspeed. We'll see how this get's resolved.

Phil.

btw, i have some pictures, but don't know how to post. i can email, if you like.

Default ouch......that sucks.....how much do the fronts need to be raised?

Default I'm not sure if that's the issue....

the rear didn't seem to change AT ALL, while the front did significantly. I could raise the front some, but i don't know if that'll change the fact that i still have a bit of a gap at the rear. granted, i still have the 16'' wheels, so i don't know how going to 17's will effect it. i want to see what neuspeed has to say, then i'll look into paying to have the front raised. at this point, i don't think i could get through a carwash.

Default a couple of thoughts......

Any chance that the rear springs aren't quite seated properly?.....it is quite possible to screw this up during installation. Unlikely, but worth a shot.

I agree, it sounds like you don't wanna raise the fronts....you'll be back where you started!

I wonder if the rears could have more grooves cut in them....based on this photo (rears on the right) it looks like you could....what's the difference in height between the front and rear? In other words, how much lower would you like the rears to be? It looks like you could get one more 10mm groove in the rears.
