Do any of you see any problems running 195/65-15 snow tires instead of 205/60-15?

I'd still run that size if I didn't upgrade to A8 rotors requiring 16". Now I run 205/55/16
Suggesting that it's hazardous to run 195/65/15 is rediculous.

I know you run taller tires, but it's not necessary. I ran 195/65/15 for two winters and they cut through the snow better than any 205s I've had since then, including much more aggressive compounds and tread patterns.

My post above this one said "No problem" to the 195's also.... maybe you weren't responding to me... going 1 or two sizes up or down is not "going skinny"... a 20mm diff (2 to 3 tire sizes) is less than a finger width of tire and will not affect performance in this situation.

According to the following sources, they show 195/65/15
Tirerack.com when you put in 97 a4 1.8t quattro
my 97's manual
my 97's sticker in the gas door
when i bought my 97 with 50k miles on it, it had the original tires which were 195/65/15
my 98 gas door sticker also said 195/65/15
so does my other 98 parts car which also has 195/65/15 on the stock wheels.
I have never seen 205/60/15's on a b5 a4 1.8t. maybe its only on the v6's or sport packages or something?

If they're the same size or close to your oem tires, run the same pressure. Over inflation will cause irregular tread wear, under inflation will affect fuel mileage.
