Default H7 bulbs will work in xenon housing, with a little modification.

I ran H7s in the S4 xenon housings for a while without any problems. In order to get the bulb to seat right, you'll probably need to trim the collar like this:

Good luck

How hard is it to do? Are there any instructions for installing them.

The bulbs? The housings? There's an article in the tech section I believe that tells you how to put 1-piece lights in place of 2-piece, if not there's tons of info in the archives. It's not hard. Good luck

I am using H7 bulbs in a one piece xenon housing now and I have horrible lighting from the porjector. So bad that I needed to angle down the highbeams to see until I find a fix or upgrade.

Default Likely the bulb is not seated well in the housing. I had no problems with mine..

...the one piece lights were MUCH improved over the two piece.
