Do I need to replace pads AND rotors?

My brake pad sensor (O) came on and my dealer said I need to reaplace my pads and rotors, I just dont have the money for that right now so could i just get new pads and be alright

If the surface is not smooth then they should be turned or replaced (turned only if the amount removes sill allows the min thicknes for the rotor that audi says is OK

can see the rotor...
touch the rotor and move your finger towards the outer edge...if you can feel a noticeable bump on the outer edge then replace the rotors.
autopartsauthority sells brembo rotors for $55 a piece free shipping...that should save you a few hundred $$...you can do all the labor yourself and save yourself even more $$$$...very easy job...or if you live in mass..i'll charge you $100...$270 with all parts and labor for front brakes
