Yes...pointless if you ask me. I'd prefer a remote trunk release like those fancy VW's have.

Whoa, i didnt know the newer VW's had a remote trunk release...WTF?!?

Default well, what does the Jetta have? I ask because the VW Golf and Audi A4 Avant...

both have the trunk "release" because they have vertical tailgates. I'd assume the Jetta/Passat have the same two buttons as the A4 does.

on a similar note, it is just an "unlock" feature. It doesn't actually open it. My gf has a 2000 golf, and it's really more of a pain than a feature. You will have all the doors open and then go to get into the trunk, and that damn thing is locked. also, there's some time frame that after you shut the trunk, it relocks itself.

Default What's pointless is the noise the alarm makes. You can barely hear it. I wouldn't even know if..

someone was breaking in to my car if it was in my own garage(stretched some). I think Audi needs to replace the alarm horn with a cadillac horn

My 2000 Golf does, I didn't know A4 doesn't have it.

Default For some stupid reason, Audi has decided to discontinue the keys with the remote trunk release......

why, I don't know. And yes, those damn VWs still have it!!!
