Default Do NOT buy rims from highlineWheels.com

I ordered replica RS4 wheels 18x8 and Yokohama AVS ES100 tires size 225/40/18 on 06/24/2003 from HighlineWheels.com. Total amount is $1450. The sales man is Scott. F. told me that I have to wait for 1 week for the special order because they do not carry Yokohama tire. 2 weeks later, I called them since I did not receive the wheels. They gave me a ridiculous excuse because one of rims was damaged so they are waiting for new shipments to arrive. They promised to ship out tomorrow (07/08/2003). I asked for cancel order cuz I¡¦m so pissed and didn¡¦t want to wait anymore. Scott said it will be charged 20% for restocking fee. WTF!! They don¡¦t even ship my wheels. After 22 days long waiting, I just got 3 wheels/tires today (07/15/2003). Another one is still on the way. When I open one of package, the entire order was wrong. Wheels were 18x8.5, tires were cheap Hankook HR tires.. I called the shop again and a different sales person named Andy said $1450 is for ¡§normal tires¡¨ and the price I paid was for the rims and cheap Hankook tires. I told Andy that I ordered 18x8 rims + Yoko ES100 225/40/18 tires and that was the price he given. At this point, Andy asked me to show some ¡§proof¡¨ or ¡§evidence¡¨ showing I ordered 18¡¨ RS4 wheel with Yoko ES100 tires. I was really amazed by his request since this was a phone in order. (Maybe I should fax him a formal purchase order in the beginning???) After I insisted my order, Andy said he will try to ¡§investigate" tomorrow.

I did search internet for those prices. The replica RS4 rims they are selling on eBay for $599 (18x8.5) but no one bid it. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43957&item =2423172919. The Hankook tire¡¦s model number is Ventus HR11 H405 225/40HR18 which is $89.95 on http://www.roadwaywholesaletire.com. The rims + tires should cost less than $1K. I have to say I'm so disappointed about their business ethics and practice. Not only they delayed my shipment, sent incorrect sized wheels, threaten with unreasonable ¡§restocking fee¡¨, they also trying to rip me off with cheap tires. I would advise people to think twice before sending their money over to those guys.

Default i would have them do one of 3 things.

1. send back your cash, and cover the shipping back to the shop.

2. you keep the rim/tires until they ship you the correct set.

3. they refund you for the tires (you did not order them) and the difference between 18x8 and 18x7.5 wheels. u pay for the rims only.

What a nightmare! I feel for you man. I got ripped off by this jerk on ebay who sold me a set of bent rims. He claims I bent them. Got ripped for $800! I'm still waiting for my CC company to issue a credit a month and a half later. So it could always be worse.

Default and if that doesn't work...

Call and ask to speak to a manager. Explain to him what happen. If he/she doesn't offer help, tell them you will call your Credit Card company to dispute the charges and file a report with the BBB(less effective.)

If that doesn't help, call your CC company. Explain to them you have a problem with a sales that you placed from an internet ad. Most CC companies are very helpful when it comes to internet businesses or internet ads leading to business. Have the CC company dispute the charges for you.

Works for me...

Default Maybe this could help. Or at least threaten them with it if any transactions were done online
