if you're just engaging in everyday driving where brake fade is not really an issue?

In other words, will they make my car stop quicker under all conditions, and not just under extreme use (i.e the track) where brake fade might be encountered?

...and they eat up your brake pads (think of them as cheese graters).

Default not entirely true...

but for a street driven car it really makes no difference unless your street dirving includes alot of successive 80-0 runs

Default actually, they make a pretty damn big difference in the rain.

also, I noticed discoloration streaking from the drill holes, indicating different temps. I'm not saying that makes a difference in daily braking but they're doing their job.

Default "stop quicker under all conditions"... sounds like you need to try the A8 brake upgrade...

... From what I understand, if you want to stop quicker, you need to go to a larger brake rotor.

Cross drilled helps with fade resistance. Slotted helps with even brake pad wear. I've also heard that they have no affect on the wet braking problem (contrary to Jon G's post).

I'm waiting until my stock brakes need to be replaced and then I'm going to try the A8 brake upgrade. It seems like a resonable price upgrade to try and its OEM parts. I do get lots of fade with my current brakes and I would like to have more brake with better initial bite. I might try the Hawk pads and cross drilled A8 rotors.

Check the tech section for more info on the A8 brake upggrade.

Default on a street car pads make the most sense for the $$$$

i used to run Mintex C-Tech and they were awesome but dirty as hell and noisey as well as hard on the rotors

now im running a stock A8 rotor with Greenstuff and like them just as much

Default Not really. Where fade is not an issue, ...

.
the best way to stop quicker in all conditions is to upgrade the tires.
