Default Do you want your instrument cluster with bad pixels fixed?

I have found a supplier for the LCD screens that go bad in the instrument clusters for the late model B5 A4/S4/Passat and am thinking of setting up a repair service. Would anyone be intereste in it? Not sure of the details but total cost should be sub $200 range. Let me know.

Default granted it would be nice to have it back to be able to read the info

but at this point I just leave it off and put my money to more fun mods and maint.

Default Under US$200 would be a great deal if you can do it. - I have not seen anytihing

definitive on it being the connector as stated below.

Default there's different types of failures.

-dead pixels
-dead rows/columns
-fading display

Mine is the fading display and is temp related. Makes me think that the LCD heater is stuck in the "on" position or something (thermocouple?)

Default You are correct it is the cable that connects the screen to the circuit board...

I should have been more clear. You cannot just replace the screen the cable is bonded on their which is a manufacturing procedure I cannot duplicate. I will be replacing the LCD with the ribbon cable which has the controller chip on it. It is all one unit that is soldered to the circuit board(which I can do).
Just looking for interest to see how many I should order, volume discounts over 25pcs better over 100pcs.

Default This will correct the dead pixels and rows/columns

Fading display sounds more like a problem with the illuminator which is behind the screen. Don't know about that one.
