does anyone change their oil using a TopSider siphon pump?
my dad has a mercedes and someone recommended it, i know nothing about it, i just usually use the traditional method, it was new to both of us....pro's, cons?

That is how all MB dealerships change oil these days...
They don't touch the drain plug any more.
I use MityVac, which is something similar to the TopSider. Changing oil this way is so easy and no mess. It also helps that the oil filter on my car is easily accessible from the top. But on my A4, I had to get under the car anyway to get to the filter.
I don't really see any cons. In my case, I am able to suck out as much oil with MityVac as if I were to let it drain for hours. This may vary depending on your oil sump design.

I use a Pela extractor
works very well.
I typically do an oil change from underneath every @2nd time when I do the filter.
I have found that little no no more oil comes out of the drain plug after a good extraction.
