Does anyone have 17x8.5" wheels with 225/45/17 or 225/40/17 tires?

You'd have to put 1500 pound springs in the rear and 400 in the front to rid yourself of the push.

with HIGH HP REAR WHEEL DRIVE CARS. The cars suffered from power oversteer problems.
Audis suffer from bad UNDERsteer. Even with even footprints all the way around, the car pushes like crazy. Anybody who knows what they're doing when tuning Audis goes to great lengths to eliminate this problem, by stiffening up the suspension in the rear and perhaps adding a beefier rear sway bar.
By putting more rubber in back than in front, you drastically make an already bad problem WORSE, and that's not even including the damage to the drivetrain (at least with the improper size combo you listed above).
Also - do you realize that the car in your photo probably has about 1500 pound springs on it? Otherwise, the fender would gut that tire like a dead pig on every corner.
I think you need to talk to a few people who know what they're talking about before you carbon copy a "cool" (and I use the term loosely) pic you saw in Eurorice magazine and end up with some results that you may not like.

then I would be accepted by all of the american styled car drivers. or I can do what I want, and drive on tires that I think look cool. do I track my car? no. do I plan on it? no. I drive my car to work and back, and I go to shows.
call me a ricer, but it's not a fully tuned track car. I have no intentions on ever doing that. if I wanted a track car, I would own a race prepped civic, not an A4.
do I care about understeer? not in the slightest. I'm not high speed racing anyone, so the chances of understeer happening aren't that high. I don't take corners extremely fast, so there is no need to worry.
as for the "incorrect tire sizing" I posted above. there is 0.3982% difference in tire size. that's 2.5mm measured from bottom of tire, to top. will it make a drastic difference when I am drivng? will I burn out a differencial? no.
are you paying for my modifications to my car, which gives you any say at all in how I modify my car? NO, therefore your opinion only counts to you, and to no one else.
If you would like to bash me, that is fine. I do not care at all. I chose to "break the common mold" of A4s in north america. I chose to style my car more along the lines of A4s overseas. I prefer euro styling as apposed to the american styling that most of the people on here follow. I like the more extreme/agressive looks such as wide wheels, with pulled tires...

215/45 and 245/40 is a good combo for an 8.5/10 combo. it will work great, and you will NOT see any bad effects from it
those who don't think so can lick my ***. they're stupid.

Just bear in mind that like you said - your car's not a track car - so the fact that you're going to have to run insanely high rear spring rates should be a concern to you.

This is a matter of intense understeer and proportioning w/ the quattro system....With any drivetrain for that matter.. Two different rolling diameters will destroy tat car i no time...Not to mention a disgusting tire wear effect.. . Not something you want to sink 3k into and have a very uncontrolled ride. Its not good, its a waste of precious money that can achieve te same look in a correct fashion.
If he wants to learn the hard way, he can feel fre to do what his wallet pleases...Im just looking out for him in the long run an trying to stop a mistake.....

actually, thinking about it, a 235/40 would be more appropriate in the back, and would make the rolling diameters closer to the same. those who think the 235/40 wont fit a 10" are on crack too, german shops sell wheels like that, and certain tires like the SP9000 are even TUV approved to be run like that.
if you dont like the look fine. but those who think it's ghetto or stupid, are f***ing retarded
