and a steady hand... u will need few things.. soldering iron that will reach around 600 F, "no clean" flux, thin solder, sponge with water in it, and some IPA. warm up the iron till its nice and hot. place the chip where u want it. put some flux down by the leads. get some solder on the iron tip, touch the tip to the leads. the flux will cause the solder to flow onto the leads. u might need to clean the iron tips if the solder sticks too much or it does not get on tip easily on the wet sponge. finally, when you are dont.. take a cloth. dip it in some IPA and clean the area!

Prok,
I know you're in Calgary. If I was you I'd take it to an electronics repair shop who specializes in soldering chips to boards. I know one by Costco South (they fixed my Cassiopeia).
Alternatively, Tunerworks does chip installs, call them and ask what the labor would be to install one you supplied, or who did their soldering.
You could do it yourself, but if you aren't comfortable with it, I'd recommend a good electronics repair shop.

Check this link from Autobraun (Edmonton).
Should be straight de-solder and resolder, but you definately want to make sure you do it right, are grounded etc. That $1000 screwup could be a **** off.
