Default Very confusing explanation...try this

2 ways to look at it.

1. Quattro = Audi, 4 Motion = VW

2. Torsen = A4, A6, Passat, Haldex = TT, Golf, Jetta.

(Not sure about the Jetta)

Default it's CALLED a 4 motion, because it is a VW, but it is technically the quattro system,

just like the TT is CALLED quattro, but is technically, the haldex system.

Default I was under the impression that...

the haldex system was FWD until the rear wheels were slipping, then it was AWD. Is that incorrect?

Default I'm going on what the TT guys were saying the last time we talked about this

EIther way, we are making the same general point that Haldex creates an unequal power split from front to back.
