Default I'm lucky...i have a connection that gets me stuff at cost, but if I remember correctly they run...

just over 100 smackers I think. Call your dealer...here's the part number.

Sound Pan 8D0 863 821 Q

Dowel Pin 8D0 805 121 - if you don't have yours, you'll need 6 of these I think. They are expensive...about 3 bucks a piece. You also need 4 plastic ones that attach to the wheel well liners that are a little different. I don't have the part number for those.

http://www.dieselgeek.com/a4steelplate.htm

It might be more durable than the stock piece - i know my stock cover is pretty beat up...

it does offer some protection against flying road debris that could nail a sensor wire etc.

Default Looks cool, but close to 300 bucks?

I guess I will consider doing it when I do my timing belt and controls arms... those things will run me 1.5k-2k, so adding 300 bucks to it won't feel as painful..

For now, I guess I will just have to go snail speed on the road.

Default let me interject with some experience...i had my oil pan cracked in half and i had a belly pan..

the belly pan didn't do anything. IIRC its sole purpose is "aerodynamics". to say that the belly pan can protect your oil pan from scratching and such also isn't true. what will end up happening is that the belly pan, in its attempt to protect your oil pan, will be dragged off. In some lucky cases, the quarter-turn screws will be pulled and then disabling you from tightening the pan, but at least you don't lose it. nonetheless the plastic belly pan will be smashed upon any impact rendering it pretty useless.
