Default iirc bridgestone bought firestone in the late 70's.....
after their first major recall, on the firestone 500.

Default Bridgestone, Firestone, and Dayton are the brand names owned by the same company...
Which is Bridgestone/Firestone USA, although Bridgestone's HQ is in Japan I believe.

Moreover, Bridgestone has recently acquired a large number of shares of Nokian Tire.
