does insurance cover vandalism such as keying...would i have to pay a deductable?

Read your policy ....
What your insurance covers really depends on what insurance you actually have.
"Keying" *IS* vandalism, and if your policy covers vandalism you might be able to go to your insurance company.
HOWEVER ....
In many cases like this, policies will only cover the actual damaged area. In other words, say someone keyed your hood ... your policy would more than likely cover painting of the hood, but not the rest of the car. So ya better hope the shop can match the pain perfectly, or you better be prepared to fork over the dough to paint the whole car.
