Default thanks

The pictures are from the April 2001 Automobile Magazine. The C-type streamliner is no longer in existance so Audi commissioned this replica. It has a top speed of 252.48MPH. The engine needs to be overhauled after every 4 hours of use, for 50K. I saw that picture in the article and it reminded me of the Quattro "Great then, Great now" ad.

Default number are always misleading and can be looked in differnt ways...

An RSX probably only loses about 12% of it's engine power through it's drivletrain while an A4 loses about 25% of it's engine's power through it's drivetrain. So which car has more torque at the wheels? Also, take into account the RSX weighs about 2850 lbs, about 300 lbs lighter than an A4....the RSX doesn't need as much torque being that light. I'm not trying to say one is better than the other...too many people bash Honda/Acuras for having weak low end power. I've owned 2 Accords and found the sub VTEC power to be fine. Maybe what is fine to me isn't adequate to another. My point is that the numbers don't tell the story, only driving the car does. I haven't had a chance to drive this car yet, but based on my experiences with my less powerful Accords with auto trannys and the praises car magazines seem to give this car, I'm sure it's a fast, fun car to drive. I have sat in one and think the interior is nice. Doesn't look cheap too me. My only gripe is that the ac vents are strange looking. The seats are awesome...I wish my A4 had seats like those. I think for a NA 2.0 liter engine, Honda engineers did a good job with this engine.

Default Something to remember about magazine tests and press vehicles......

because they are driven harder than most folks would drive their new car, and often have more miles on them resulting in the engine/trans etc being broken in (or "loose") you'll see lower times from these cars than you will get if you pull one off the lot.

Take one off the lot, break it in and put a few thousand miles in it and your 0-60 time will drop noticeably. Off the lot your car will be stiff until broken in (like my fiancee).

Default True, but the cars are serviced every thousand mile or so...I drive them at work all the time.

We had an A4 in here a few months ago with 20k, it felt tight as my car.

Default not to mention a test driver can't just jump into a new model car...

and drive it perfectly. Even though test drivers are excellent drivers and are better than 95 percent of the population, they are not perfect. You still have to learn a car. I know many magazines tested the GS-R at 15.5 or higher in the quarter mile, but I know teenagers that get quicker times. They are not better drivers, it is just that they live with that car day in and day out and learn what is right and what is wrong.

Default There is nothing like knowing your car inside and out. it gives you a big edge over people with

better cars but who aren't yet familiar enough with the handling and transmission characteristics of their new ride.
