Does this sound like a CV/ axle issue?

Here's the deal, In the past week my car (97 A4 1.8T tip) has started to make a knocking sound coming from the front right of the car. The sound is only present when the car is moving and sounds like if you were stopping a ceiling fan with you hand. That's the best description I can give. The sound is pretty audible and doesn't seem to effect the handling of the car. The sound typically occurs between 2000 and 3000 rpms but has occurred at different ranges of power. At this point, I think my cv/ axle is dying fast. I have no idea what a bad cv sounds like but the sound really doesn't change much when turning. I have already had the following replaced within the last 30000 miles: control arms, rear wheel bearings, TREs, steering rack, motor mounts, trans mounts, shocks, stern power ring, and turbo. Finally, I have visually inspected both sets of boots and see no cracks or grease anywhere. I also checked for play in the wheel and found none. If anyone has any ideas, let me know since I am at a loss right now. Thank you

hard to tell by your discription. Those are the sort of sounds you have to drive to feel it yourself to determine what it is.

Hi!
I have similar problem with the knocking noise. I have already had the right CV axle and the lower control arm replaced, but the noise is still there. My mechanics are clueless. They said the last resort would be tearing into the differential, which would cost me an arm and a leg. Could you please let me know if you took care of your problem?
Much appreciated!
Alex.
