does swapping out the brake pads really reduce the dust?

Not sure if it's a cost thing
I thought it was something to do with environmental regulations. Don't BMWs have the same problem? I know somebody who has an Volvo S60 and it's just filthy also after a few days.

if u dont wanna give up your stock brakes...
mmm i've seen this on some car there is a black shield i guess u can say... it prevents the dust from getting on the rims... so its like your rims and there is a black pannel right behind the rims and your brakes dont show... it oculd be a cheaper alternate... i've seen this on a couple of bmw's in the houston area.. i dont know where to get one though. if anyone knows please tell me cause i hate scrubbin my damn wheels.

I have had my EBC greens on my car for 150 miles now...
wow, no dust, and much better bite than OEM. I still have to take it easy on em to bed them, but that means i do longer gentle brakes. There is no dust. Im used to wiping down my rims after almost each drive, since i used to take the Audi out on weekends mostly. Ive been driving for about 2 weeks as my daily driver, and there is nothing to wipe off, its great.
I know MarkBradford hated em, but i suspect his car has brake issues, he has, i believe, had 2 sets of rotors replaced.
Cheers
