Default D'oh! Anderson Behel broke a tail light at 10k service...

My car was at Anderson Behel on Stevens Creek in Santa Clara today, and the service was great..... except that they broke my passenger-side tail light. They weren't going to say anything if I hadn't seen it, and then some of them seemed to think I was pretending it was new when it was old or something. But my service guy was very courteous and said he'll have a new tail light next week. So all is good. Just scared me a bit.

Default but the fact that they weren't going to say anything...

is a cause for concern. anyway, i don't use them for service anymore even though they're right down the street...and i'm past the warranty period.

Default Yeah, but I'm not sure they knew it, besides whomever did it...

...Either way, yeah it's a bit of a concern, but I'll just make sure I do a thorough check whenever I leave there. Yeah, there could be things I don't notice but it's still better than waiting almost 2 months for Carlsen service hehe..

At least it distracted any attention they may have placed on any OBD-II error codes I may have had.

Default Well Mikey, they claim to have actually fixed my B-Pillar rattle today. I'm off to pick it up...

So I make sure I do a thorough check!

Default Careful. Their definition of fixing the B-Pillar Rattle is...

...taking it off, sticking some silcone sealant to it and your car and returning it to you.....

I have taken the B pillar issue to two dealerships now.

Rector says "it couldn't find it, twice..."

Anderson says it couldn't find it, and tryed twice as well. the second time, I scheduled a technician to for a test drive and he "said" he heard it and was going to fix it by adding some silcone sealant to it....

You are better off printing the FAQ off this web site and giving it to them,
or better yet, fix it yourself..... (I just haven't found time to myself)....

Service at Anderson varies, based on who's handling it. Wolfgang is ok, and there was another guy who was pretty good.

DONT LET THEM WASH YOUR CAR, PARTICULARLY IF IT IS A BLACK OR SANTORIN. AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BIG SIGN ON THE GLOVEBOX STATING THIS... THEY WILL F*CK UP YOUR PAINT WITH SWIRL MARKS PRETTY GOOD AND EVEN IF THEY WROTE IT ON YOUR WORK ORDER, THEY SOMETIMES STILL MANAGE TO SCREW IT UP.

Second, make sure you check the oil after service. They sometimes overfill the 1.8T's slightly....

What happened? They scraped your bumper and wouldn't pay?

Default Bastards...

..Why wouldn't they pay? In my case one guy thought I was lying but the service manager was more than happy to order the tail light. Granted, it's a cheaper fix than a bumper, but I'm surprised they refused. What was their reasoning? Had you already signed and stuff?
