Default Double Overhead cam and single over head cam i would imagine the dohc is a 24 or 30valve and the soh

is a 12valve

basically 2 totally different engines which share the same block and possibly some other minor parts

Default The difference between the two is this...

Single overhead cam has only one cam per head. Dual or Double overhead cam has two cams per head. These are used in engines where one camshaft can't hold enough cam lobes to actuate the valves.

Most do, but 2.8 12V doesn't have rocker arms. Just FYI.
