Default Dont you just love it when you try to fix one problem, you find another, and you fix it...

while troubleshooting my boost leak, with the help of ModifiedA4, I determined that my MAF wasnt working right. I had a Max g/s of 106.03 g/s, my Fuel Trim was -3.4% and 12.5%. My boost plot looked like the following:

After trying to Clean the MAF Sensor using Electrical contact cleaner and Isoprophyl Alcohol, the MAF continued to freak out and read very low around 95 g/s.

I was able to swap out my MAF with AutoXjunkie's MAF since he too has an '01 with an AWM engine. With his MAF installed, her is what my MAF signal looked like w/ a max of 161 g/s:

There seems to be a bit of a ripple right around the same RPM's as the Boost.

I did, however, clear and relog the Fuel Trim. At first I was a little worried because both Idle and Part Throttle remained at 0% and 0%. Even during my 003 and 115 logging, but it finally went to .4% and 0%. Much better than the previous -3.4% and 12.5%

I also logged the Boost signals from block 115. The Major Wavepool ripple in the boost was audibly and butt dyno apparent:

So, on goes the search for the elusive Boost Leak...

Default Just a thought but, when I installed my k04 I had similar issues

I kept complaing about the problem to my friend greg and he told me to try a a samco hose for my inlet pipe. It actually ended up being the pipe collapsing under load. Who knows, you may be having a similar issue.

Default If you haven't already you really should reset your ECU

so that it will "unlearn" the corrections from the MAF and BPV. That *may* solve your problem

Default sounds like good news!

get a new maf...put some miles on to see if things smooth out. do a throttle body alignment and resert the ecu. run some injector cleaner through the fuel system.

do a caps run.

then if you still feel a problem after the car has settled down, start chasing that.

btw, if you get a TIP, get the APR one.
