Door Removal (Full door not just panel)
Anyone done this? The 1996 A4 I bought has a dent in the driverside rear door. I've sourced a rear door in the same color locally for $100. I'm going to check it out cause the difference in paint fade may be so noticeable as to be worse than the dented door, but I figured it was worth a look. I did want to figure out how much of a pita it would be to do.
From looking at mine, it seems I would just need to unbolt the torx bolts where the hinge connects to the door to physically swap them. I'd keep my existing doorpanel & hinge, so the hardest part seems to be getting the wiring unplugged, run out through the hole and back in and replugged on the new door. Just wondering if anyone's done this and what their experience was like?
