Default Drive by Wire?? Do I have it? 1998.5

I'm trying to see if I have a DBW A4...

May be a dumb question but I don't know...

I have a 1998.5 A4 FWD

I'm not sure if the mid year break makes a difference, and I'm unsure of when the DBW system was started...

Please let me know

Thanks!

Richie

Why is it even called "drive by wire" if there is no wire (throttle cable)?

Wire, as in no mechanical linkage. it's all electronic (wiring).

Default So I just have a mechanical Drive By Wire (steel Braided wire through a plastic shield) HEHE :)

Thanks all!!

That sucks cause I was thinking of running a Boost Controller rather than a new ECU...
