This is driving me nuts. No memory function on the new D3?

you know, like a simple factory radio has memory of preset stations and such. I cannot get the D3 to "remember" ****. No radio presets, EQ settings, nav locations, backlight color settings ..........nothing. Extremely annoying. Everytime you turn the car on all this info has to be readjusted? Can't be right.....no way Pioneer could overlook this right? It has to be me. I have read through and followed the user manual....still, nothing. The unit turns off and on when the ignition is switched, so the +battery and acc. battery wires are obviously connected properly. I have tried to reset the unit, same results afterwards. The 3D Hybrid GPS sensor also gets reset everytime the ign. is keyed off. This is not supposed to happen, it "learns" it's position and stores the data.....well apparently not for me!
I am really not looking forward to pulling this thing back out of the dash and going over the wiring again. I used my multimeter the first time for a reason. I am positive the connections are right, soldered and heat shrunk.
CAN ANYTHING WITH THIS CAR EVER JUST GO SMOOTH?!

Attach there with an eye terminal. There is always a memory feed wire on modern radios. Without that power there isn't memory retention . Its not like your computer that has a small battery on the motherboard to retain things so the memory power has to have an outside source. More than one manufacturers cars have this circuit on with the lighter circuit and you know when that fuse is blown when the radio doesn't hold stations. Its usually blown by radar detector, phone or children with coins. We see it in the shop a lot because of cheap cell phone chargers.
