Default driving school recommendation in norcal....

Dad and I are going to driving school (giving it to him as a father's day present)- he has an '01 TT, I've got the A41.8T. We don't necessarily need to bring our own cars. Are there any audi-related driving schools in northern california (SF area), either Sears Point or Monterey??? Can't seem to find one on the audi web site (link please?). Failing that, how about a good general driving school (e.g. Skip Barber) that has classes around here? recommendations please!

thanks-

Default If you're willing to travel...

There are several excellent schools here in Indianapolis. If you come, dinner is on me one night.

I know that Bob BonDurant has a driving school in Arizona that is supposed to be one of the best in the world.

Default post this question in the Motorsports Forum and ye will get loads of recomendations!!!.........

Sears Point the Quattro Club just had an event last week! Laguna Seca, next year, Thunderhill (sacramento srea) in January!! Thunderhill is an excellent track for learning.....wide course, good trackout room, no walls! 8-)

Skip Barber.....I don't know, I always get the impression that for the $$$ you don't get as much as you would simply going to a Club event.

Lastly, I think driving in your own car is the only way to go...nothing like the real thing.

Default www.thunderhill.com

The high performance driving school is awesome. Not Audi specific, but very very good, especially if you are a first timer. They cater to everyone from first timer to experienced wannabe racers. They do open track days for testing if you have a race car. They have an Audi event typically every January, check the Quattro Club USA website for a date, I don't think it's even up yet to be honest. The track is about an hour north of Sacramento on I5. For $200 a person for the HPDS, you can't beat it. Make sure to check it out.
