The clutch point was very high up, and it felt very, very soft. Also, when shifting, the revs took a while to drop like the clutch was slipping. I haven't driven a turbo car before (that didn't have CVT), and haven't driven a manual A4, so I'm not sure how it should feel. It also didn't feel like it was making much power above 5k rpm. It revved up there quickly and felt strong up to that point, but didn't move past it very fast. My 12V moves from 5000-6500rpm quicker.
As reference, the clutch was much softer than my 1994 90 S which has 165k miles.
I mentioned it to the dealer, and he's willing to put a new clutch in for $250 cost to me.
The car's in perfect condition physically, very clean, no blemishes inside or out. Bridgestone Potenza Z-rated tires with about 60-70% tread.
Dark blue with charcoal interior, 64k miles. Asking price is $12500 and a 2-year warranty is $1500 more (covers turbo, quattro, motor, etc) but not "wear and tear," so the clutch is not covered.
The only problem on the car that I noticed, besides the soft clutch, was the information screen in the center of the instrument cluster was not lit properly.
Good deal or sour? Let me know! Thanks guys...

The B5 stock clutch will grab at the very top and will feel very soft. Revs will not drop fast since it is a Drive By Wire(DBW) car, the ecu tends to keep the rpms up during shifts and the car also comes with a dual mass flywheel stock.
The screen on the dash tends to go out and is a normal issue.
The car wont make much power above 5k since the stock K03 turbo is out of steam by then, it is setup for all bottom end and midrange power.

even if there is nothing wrong with the current clutch. with the new clutch ask if they are going to bleed the slave too...that will probably take care of some of the softness.
