Default DTC 16486 - MAF sensor signal too low - where's the cheapest place to get a MAF sensor?

Thanks in advance... the DTC i got was:
16486 - MAF Sensor
G70 - signal too low 35-00

Any ideas, besides changing the MAF? A how-to on cleaning the MAF?

Default check the maf electrical connection on top of the airbox...

It's possible the plug is loose.

Default the plug looked okay - checking engine load (more)

display group 2, field 4 shows 0.33 g/s mass air flow... corrective action recommended is to check intake air system for leaks (false air) - i imagine there could be a loose clamp somewhere? I'm going to re-check and tighten everything...

Where can I pick up some engine leak detector spray? What harm am i doing to the car driving it with the bad MAF? Thanks... any other advice??

Default more...

after taking a second look, the air intake plenum had pushed the cone filter off the u-tubing. i re-attached the cone filter, cleared DTC's but the condition returned - after taking it out for a spin, the air flow g/s fluctuated between say .17 and .33. Ugh. Do I need to clean the MAF? Or do I need a new one entirely...

Default Could be a leak but I'd bet on the plug...

I would remove the plug and grommet and re-install them. Clear the DTC and see if it some back.

Your not doing harm to DBW cars because of the MAP sensor. Non-DBW's don't have a MAP sensor and run like *** when their MAF's die.

Default Ahh, you have an cone intake...

I'd say it's the plug or the maf is toast.

Default or will cleaning the MAF help at all at this point? or is it too late.

I'm going to clean out the wires and such with some compressed air...
