dual mass flywheel resurfacing
Luk states on his site that dual mass flywheels should not be resurfaced. Why? What's the catch?
So, if I need to change the clutch should I change the flywheel?
What can happen if I don't? What if I don't do anything to the flywheeel?

they can be resurfaced, Napa machine shops will do them, if they have a savvy machinist...
The reason they say that they shouldn't be resurfaced is so that they can take your money! Kidding. The dual masses FW have springs and such. The reason they say to replace them instead is b/c as everyone knows, springs were out, rust, etc... Other than that, as long as you don't do it more than once or twice may be. Depends on its thickness. You should have it resurfaced to get rid burn spots and glazing that will cause slippage in the new clutch. It will prep the surface for the new clutch. I think its the same reason you cut rotors.
