Default Dumb question about vag tool use.

I'm thinking of getting a vag tool soon. Say my check engine light comes on and i check the code. What do I do with the code to find out what it means? Is this in the vag software or do I also need a bentley repair manual? Thanks.

Default Well if you actually buy the vag com software from Ross Tech

it will tell you want the code means. The newest version of vag com even tells you what each reading is for each block now.
