so all of the sudden during shifting, the engine will rev like it is in neutral between shifts, resulting in jolting into gear... someone please tell me i don't have to replace the whole transmission and this is just a small problem

I seem to remember hearing about this before... I'm curious about the answer too.

How long does it rev for between shifts? Fluid change might help.

Check your ATF level. Car should be warm and running when you check the level.

I wonder if it's an issue with some sensor inside the tranny. Got VAG to check for codes?

Default I wonder if it is a sign of a failing TCU.

transmission control unit. They can go bad, typically from moisture. I would Vag it to check for a DTC.

Charger is nothing. At least she's not complaining about your Milltek exhaust ;-)

Default ok now i got the laptop to work long enough to get some codes... ctd

there are two codes from the throttle; from the body- (17967): Fault in basic settings, and a code from the throttle actuator: Lower stop not reached... these are the only ones that would come up again immediately after i cleared it... the laptop died before i could get any codes from the transmission... luckily i haven't actually had time to install the new throttle body, so this could be the culprit...
