Default would this be the right prices?

i think these are the prices that i could find anyways (approx.):

Ko3 car:
99 1.8t A4
Stock Ko3 turbo.
ported manifold ~dunno
Turbo5 Intake ~200
Turbo5 FMIC ~1600
Turbo5 FMOC ~650
Turbo5 BPV ~80
Borla exhaust ~630
Turbo 5 cat/down pipe. ~840
4bar FPR. ~dunno
Stock 210cc injectors.
GIAC Ver. 30a (stage1) (17.5psi peak as noted on guage). ~400
92oct fuel

So K03 total = about $4400 (not including ?'s)

Ko4 car:
99 1.8t A4
Ko4-015 turbo ~1600 (not sure about this)
Ported manifold ~dunno
Turbo5 Intake ~200
Turbo5 FMIC ~1600
Turbo5 FMOC ~650
Turbo5 BPV ~80
Borla exhaust ~630
Turbo 5 cat/down pipe. ~840
Turbo 5 adjustable FPR set at 3bar ~200
310cc RC injectors(PES) ~dunno
GIAC/PES chip (15psi peak). ~400
92oct fuel

so K04 like $7800?

please no flames...just wanted to see/show the prices i found...

Default More like this..

First off you do not need all of these mods on a street car. Second if you had a ko3 it would be kinda pointless to do all these mods without going to a larger turbo. This was just to show the diff between changing the the turbo out..

To get the Ko3 cars power you would need.

Intake
IC
Chip
Exhaust

Cat and down pipe is not realy needed with a ko3 turbo but is on the car for testing. I would expect not much of a hp diff.

So $2623 total.

The Ko4 cars mods would cost about $3244 without the Downpipe/cat as it has not bee priced yet.

Thanks

Clark

Default Wow, torque at 3000rpm looks excellent! Hopefully the rapid dropoff below that

is artificial due to startup. Stock 1.8T torque at engine is 150lbft at 1750rpm? It would be nice to capture that lower range, too allow better comparison of drivability, etc :-)

Default I think to the flywheel but...

The reason I say 'but' because the numbers are pretty high if its to the wheels. He mentioned that the a stock GIAC KO3 got about 184 hp. That's seems about right since I've seen a few dyno runs and the chipped cars were getting in the 150-160's hp range to the wheels . Also an S4 dynoed at 199hp to the wheels. BUT there are so many variables and cars run differently so its hard to say and dyno numbers can be manipulated. I think the intention was to compare the KO3 to the KO4 and not to show-off the amount hp they are getting...even though I doubt they would have published the numbers if they were low.
Keep in mind that both cars were pretty heavily modded. Each car had about $2000+(ported manifold, FMIC, FMOC, high flow-cat) more mods than the average KO3 or KO4 1.8T.

Default The problem is that this dyno must start above 2k.

If I go to low it will give and error about RPM being to low.. There is even more low end that what is pictured.

I had the car in second at a steady 2000 or so. I flipped the switch waited one sec and floored it..

Default Its crank hp.... BUT..

It was taken on this Dyno.. Please Dont compare this to other dyno's. You will be wasting your time. Thats why I included the stock/GIAC numbers. Lets focus on the delta..

So.. A stock car with a GIAC 30a chip makes 184hp on this dyno.. The rest of the power was do to the other mods such as the IC, exhaust and intake. Around 30 peak hp.

What this shows us is that if a Chipped Ko3 owner puts a FMIC on he will gain at least 20hp. This will put him over 200hp with power that he will keep. Remember that a chipped ko3 car with a hot IC can be 20hp less then if the IC was cold.. Since you cant heat soak this IC you would realize 40hp gains at the times when your sotck iC was hot.. Add the intake and an exhaust and you would have a 30hp gain peak. Not a bad setup at all.. Drives Exactly like stock but more trq and Hp. with power never fading.. standing start run WOT into 4th gear and it pulls and pulls...

Then down the road if that person was to slap a Ko4 on bingo 40hp and 40ft lbs. This is the reliable limit of the ko4. If you want more than 252hp you need a larger turbo.

I am testing it on my car now.

The Ko4 kit is $1649. Please check www.turbo5.com.
