i dont know what the #@##@#$ is wrong if anyone has experience/insight on this please help. I searched the forums to no solution.
Here is a quick summary on my lights
98.5 A4 had oem 2 piece
did the fender cut , etc. and installed oem 1 piece xenons from 02 S4 , had absolutely no viration/shaking problems with the light beam for 6 months
hit a deer
removed bulbs and ballasts from the oem 1piece s4 housings and put them into e-code xenons
instaled back into car (tryed with and without 3rd screw , no difference)
The housings when secured by the 2 top screw stay in place , no movement.
Turn car on , rev engine , you can see a slight viration/bouncing of beam pattern on wall only from passengers side. Drivers side is perfect.
Driving causes the beam to bounce even worse (im not talking about the bounce because the auto-leveling motors are not working) I mean like vibration/jumpy light bouncing
Remove both lights , removed back plastic covers.
Now here is what is odd?
The drivers side which has no problems , if you try to push , pull up and down on the back of the power connector to xenon bulb there is no movement
However on the passenger side there is about an inch of movement. Also on passengers side I can turn easily with fingers the vertical adjusyment screw. Why , that is not supposed to be?
How can I fix this?
Please help

Check out a post of mine below from today... it's about the same thing really. I put in S4 housings in my 98.5 2.8, the S4 come witht the auto leveling motor, which I suspect you don't have. This is located behind the plastic cover where the low beams are. Attached to the reflector is a U shaped piece of white plastic, this is where the auto level motor secures it's pivoting adjustor. If you don't have the motor, this is secure and the housing can move around a lot. You need to support where that adjustor would be.
If this helps let me know, maybe i can explain it better. Hope this is what you were talking about though.

the auto leveling motor with the green ball end that is in the US xenon housings does not come with the Euro Xenon housings , instead in there is a 'shipping plug' They are in both of my housings.
The problem I think is that inch or so of vertical movement in the problematic light and the fact that I can easily move the vertical beam adjuster with my fingers.
How this happened , I have no idea.....can you picture what im describing?

in the e-codes instead of the autoleveling motor with green ball end there is a shipping plug in there , to prevent the vertical movement i described. In my passenger light (the onme that has the beam vibrating/jumping) housing the plug was lose....i cant believe i did not notice this
thank you
thank you
