Default E-Codes/Xenon upgrade question...

It seems like my Xenon in my E-Code (non xenon ecodes), the bulbs put out more light above the horizon line, than the do on the ground.

I've read a couple reports of people using the base of an H7 bulb and JB Weld'ing it to the xenon bulb base so it fits better.

How would I remove the base from an OEM H7 bulb? Any other ideas how to get more light on the ground?

Thanks!

Default Sorry to hijack the thread, but has anybody had any issues with SPP 5,000k and stock non-xenons?

Just curious, I ran a search and saw a few folks griping, but I think they were using a different kit. I just ordered the rebranded SPP 5,000k kit (Phillips bulbs & Ballasts) from Eric, and I was going to install in my stock non-Xenon projectors to see how they looked. If they didnt look good, I'd go ahead and order the E-Code housings.

Any issues?

Is there a better way to do it, so I can get more light on the ground? Wedge the bulbs down more?

Default what bulbs are you using?

if you are trying to use a D2S in your H7 housings, stop half assing, you have a ton of splash and will NEVER get the bulb correctly placed which is one of the most important aspects of the beam pattern.

purchase some H7 aftermarket xenons, NOT D2S XENONS!

Default Um...I'm not sure. I bought them through an AW group buy...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/2644/xenon.jpg"></center><p>but there were two different versions available - one for the E-Codes and one for the DOT - I bought the E-Code bulbs.

I do know they have a round base, even though the e-codes have an H7 type base.

This is a picture of the bulb.

That's definitely a D2S xenon bulb, but I can't tell if there are any modifications to the base.

Should the base look like a normal H7 halogen bulb?

Default you need...

to either get xenon ecode housings, or to get H7 xenon bulbs. you can not put D2S bulbs in housings designed for H7 halogens. do not listen when people tell you that you can retrofit them. you are already spending hundreds of dollars on lights, don't ghetto rig them and get less light than if they were properly set up. you need bubls that are based correctly and designed for your housing.
