has anybody driven a 2.8Q with the supercharger kit? 5 grand seems a bit steep, but it sure looks like alot of fun. Is there any benefit to supercharging the 2.8 over just buying an S4 and chipping it for about the same cost? I'd like to see pics of a 2.8 engine with the supercharger installed.

especially since I moved in with the GF and she actually wants to "decorate" the place. Fvck, I told her some beer posters and a couple of Don Majikowski posters would do it. But noooo.

why you ask?
because you will get a lot more enjoyment out of the SC than the "decorations". When was the last time you washed your decorations, or had bad dreams about some evil person molesting your decorations... precisely never.
follow your id, not her nesting instinct to happyness.

First, I don't quite understand how the two would be approx. the same cost.
Second, if the turbos blow on the S4, you're facing a huge repair bill.
That said, the supercharger is nice, but by all accounts here, the kit does run a bit rich. Ultimately, you're limited in power once the supercharger goes on, so if you decide you want even more, well, you'll be shopping for another car.
With the S4, a chip appears to be a simple solution, however, as I mentioned, if those turbos blow, you've got a dilemma on your hands. Do you spend $5K to replace failure prone turbos with OEM replacement (also failure prone)? Or, do you install K04, and walk down the slippery slope of modding the S4 further? (Anywhere from $9K-$14K installed, depending on what you order).
If your wallet makes this decision, it should be fairly easy. If you're not constrained by the wallet, then you can delve deeper into the pros and cons of each.
