ecu swap.. 97 to 99.5 a4 1.8t fwd to 1.8t quattro will it work...

It will, according to ross-tech the quattro is mechanically driven...
meaning that it doesn't matter as long as it is still a nDBW ECU. I have used a 99 ECU in a 97 and am will be putting it in a 99.5 now. Also I know a guy that used a 97 ECU in a 99.
Just make sure the tranny's are coded correctly.
