ECU swap - tiptronic into manual

Will a tiptronic ECU transfer into a manual vehicle. Looking to buy a used ECU w/chip, exact same ECU numbers for a 99 A4 1.8T, quattro, 5sp. ECU for sale has been in a Tiptronic. Anyone know if it would work or what would need to be done?

yea all you need is vag-com to change the softcode.

It will work, but it has to be recoded using VAG-COM tool.

any place(a friend will work also) with a good ol' rosstech vag-com will do.
