Eh, I think I have a leak ... tranny?

Default Eh, I think I have a leak ... tranny?

I've been meaning to do the tranny, haven't to it, I may have to pay here's some pics ...

It looks like its leaking out of the bolts, i was under there to cut the brake sensors and thats what i noticed.

Default Is it dripping? That's the differential housing. I beleive on the manual trans cars, the front and..

middle diffs, and the transmission isself all share the transmission gear oil.

Check the axle seals, and wipe/clean the area thorougly to see if you can spot the source of the leak.

Default uh oh Ive been having random oil like that too but havent been able to figure it out... I just thou

thought it was oil that made its way down there from a previous leak

I have the same leak -- small, infrequent drops of oil -- mechanic says it's the axel seal.

Default there is no puddles, very little bit of oil, but got me nervous, imma have it checked out ...

if its a seal or gasket or whatever what should it cost to fix?

Default Had same problem...was the differential gear seal on the axle side...

cost me $550 at stealership to replace both axle seals.

They said the driveshaft seal is going also but that can wait.....$400 extra for the driveshaft seal.
