Has anyone dealt with this? On my 98.5 2.8, the electric fan has been running fine, even a lot lately due to my recent installation of a low temp fan switch in the radiator. With 105k on it, I think the fan's dead. It's making a LOOOUUUDD noise that sounds like the engine is going to explode, like a really loud moaning sound. Every time I inspect it, it seems like it's coming from the electric fan, and when I close the hood it stops-and so does the fan.

I'm wondering, can this be fixed or do I just replace the fan?

Where do I get a fan from besides the dealer? How much?

My fan died on my old Avant, got a used one from Shokan.

It was a horrible noise every time the accessory fan came on (electric fan). Pretty easy to replace. I had to remove the bumper and pull the radiator out a couple of inches to the service position. It is expensive though. $100+

I bought a new one from an odd ball place called <a href="http://www.autodoctorparts.com">Autodoctorparts</a> but I believe I priced it out on a the regular sites.
