Does anyone have extensiuve knowledge of the engine break-in period and any benefits with running an engine at redline a couple of time during the break-in period?

Also depends on Automatic vs. Manual.
I try to shift at under 3500 rpms for the first 15 minutes or so of driving.
I only redline after the engine has warmed up.
Coolant temp straight up... and oil temp rising...
This will help protect and preserve your engine.

by taking your call fully through the usuable RPM range you are seating the valves.
I have heard of some people being very low on the rpms during break in, and I have also heard of people who have redlined the second out of the lot. Both have had prefectly fine results
